Probably my new favorite study spot in Fort Wayne! majorly thrilled to have finally gotten to check this place out- it's been long time coming. Fortezza is the very picture of the beautifully designed minimalist/artsy coffee shop. Truly. I appreciate everything about the aesthetics of Fortezza- beautiful upcycled tables, a variety of seating options and rooms for every purpose from family eating to quiet studying- and the most intricate leaf designs I've seen on a latte in awhile. The staff is friendly, helpful and well educated. The paintings on the walls are primarily abstract and interesting- there aren't any boring prints of Kinkade works here. I ordered a latte and a blueberry scone- prices were good and my breakfast was great. $1 for a pastry? totally welcome. They serve a nice range of other baked goods, DeBrand chocolates and some intriguing meal options- including creme brulee french toast (oh my gosh) and a chorizo sandwich, among others. Unique choices that I'll definitely try out sometime! My -only- criticism was that the internet was not working well at all. I was able to access and connect, but I couldn't get to any websites except facebook, youtube, etc- nothing that I actually needed, like school and business related pages. I went elsewhere right after and had no issues, so it was definitely a problem on their end. Hoping this is different next time I come in!

Environment is awesome. Its a chill laid back feel. The pleoplw who served us were really nice young adults. I loves that the menu is on a chalk wall. I got a caramel latte and i loves it. It is recommended. The prices are a bit steep, but what coffee place isnt a little pricey!

Great owner & good place for business meetings. (They also have a private room you can reserve). Their breakfasts are great & I love the quiche. They have a Minimal, modern interior w/ some outdoor seating. I've yet to order any sweets, but my coworkers love the salted caramel brownies, macaroons & of course the DeBrand's chocolates.

Sweet, simple little indie cafe with beautiful espresso drinks, fancy chocolate bonbons, some breakfast options, and sweet baked goods (green tea matcha roll cakes, etc.) by a young baker who apprenticed in Japan. And elegant latte designs (see photos) - every cup is a work of art! Good use of open space - standing countertops near the entrance, a larger side room with 4-tops and coffee tables for folks working/studying, and a meeting room in back with room for maybe twenty (which can be reserved for private events). Modern, hip, low-key design/decor inside; gloriously restored red sandstone (apparently from the original quarry!) on the outside. I was the third person to roll in on a longboard this morning! I quickly regretted my quiche (a light plate with raspberry-garnished mixed arugula salad and berry/granola yogurt cup) when I saw someone else's biscuit breakfast sandwich come out - that big, eggy, cheesy explosion of carbs and protein looked like a much better way to prepare for a session at the skatepark. Next time!

Went there after lunch to get good coffee. I have to say that the place is overpriced. This is not NYC. But the prices sure reflect that lifestyle. I got a hazelnut frappe, it was delicious. For a regular size Frappe with taxes it was 5.67. More than Starbucks. The coffee is very good though. In summary, you have to pay up for good stuff. I'm just not sure if that can really apply in Fort Wayne. Their decor is super modern. Not a big breakfast menu. If you want great breakfast, go across the street to Dash in. They also have super delicious lattes.

This place is GREAT. Their pour over is delicious. Lots of flavor. I have been traveling the country this summer & stopping at local coffee shops, and this is one of my favorite stops! Great atmosphere too.

First time here & it was yummy! I tried something new- matcha iced. It was slightly sweet & milky- I probably wouldn't have it again, not because it was bad, but because it wasn't my thing. Thinking the espresso con panna next time! My husbands cappuccino was awesome as was the blueberry muffin I chose. Tons of good stuff here & friendly staff. The atmosphere is wonderful as well.

They brew Counter Culture which is a plus. Quality seasonal single origins are a rare find in the Fort Wayne area. The setup needs to be tweaked, flow of menu and counter / order process needs improvement. Nice space and free wifi - A great addition to downtown Fort Wayne.

The atmosphere in the coffee shop is awesome. It is a cool and relaxing place to chill and enjoy a cup of joe. A small sitting area wraps around the store as soon as you walk in and there is an additional room in the back. They offer the classic coffee, ice or cold. In addition, they have Debrand chocolate, desserts, and few sandwiches to choose from. I ordered a iced mocha and it was superb. It is definitely better than Starbucks. It has a smooth bitter taste of quality coffee and just the right amount of cream and sugar. However, finding a parking lot on the street near by can be a little challenging. It's great if you work near by because you can just stroll along the side walk to enjoy this awesome coffee place.

The pour over coffee was watered down and not hot. They didn't have a lot of pastries on the day I went there because the bakery shelf was not working. The peanut butter macaroons were okay; I've had better in other cities.

Best coffee in Fort Wayne. Hands down. Great atmosphere and service. Their lattes are to die for. Also the brunch is great too. Love Fortezza. It's my Saturday morning go to!

Surprised at the quality of pour-over coffee in Fort Wayne. They offer coffees from an excellent roaster (Counter Culture) with tasting notes clearly posted, making decisions just a bit easier. I have not yet tried their espressso, but that will be on tap for future visits.

You can't go wrong with this place. Coffee is spot on and lovingly prepared. Lovely, modern atmosphere. Clean. Crisp. And definitely worth the drive out to dupont!

Fantastic service, delicious food and amazing espresso. I ordered the spinach and goat cheese quiche & coconut milk latte. I highly recommend this place!

Such a great place to sit and chat with friends. The muffins and scones are always delicious but I've never had any luck with the macaroons. They're almost always stale! The coffee is a bit strong for my tastes but my coffee purist friends really enjoy it. I have to add a bit more cream than normal to get it how I like it. Their iced and hot teas are good as well. Service is always prompt and friendly. They have outdoor seating that comes in handy in nice weather and a good amount of indoor seating, including what looks like a conference room in the back. Overall - a cute coffee shop to spend some time in.

Excellent coffee and food! Local AND a cut above that national chain. You know the one.

This place is pretty much perfect. Walked over from the downtown Hilton 2 mornings in a row. Great coffee. Friendly staff. I had the cinnamon roll and the Italian sausage quiche and both were delicious. Highly recommend if you happen to be in downtown Fort Wayne.

Really enjoyed trying Fortezza Coffee today. The atmosphere/ambience is very urban/creative. The staff are friendly (you'll actually want to tip them). Iced Carmel macchiato was not on the menu, but the barista made me one anyhow and it tasted perfect. She intimated that this was a "real" macchiato as opposed to what you get from some chain place... As a macchiato aficionado, this one ranks pretty high on my list. My daughter had them mix peach smoothie and raspberry smoothie together for her drink. I will be getting this the next time. It makes your mouth water it is so delicious. And the food! Creme brûlée French toast- you'll want to share it with someone. Perfectly made. The chorizo sandwich is a perfect blend of protein, heat, dairy, greens and acid (be sure to hit with the lime). Love that we have a great spot for lunch and coffee downtown - and a cool spot to do some work or homework.

Loved this place! Mocha for me and hot chocolate for my daughter. Sweet pastries. Yum!

I was really happy to hear that a new coffee place came in to downtown Fort Wayne, so my boyfriend and I went to try it out. When we got there, the vibe was really positive and the baristas were super friendly. I asked about the quality of the coffee and where it came from. Most was organic and fair trade certified. Two positives in my book! I ordered a cappuccino with coconut milk (another positive for me was that they had coconut milk at all!). The espresso was really strong, but the creaminess from the coconut milk helped to balance it out. My boyfriend ordered an iced coffee, also with coconut milk. Unfortunately, his coffee was not brewed cold, which is ok, but his drink was super watered-down and pretty flat tasting. That was kind of a bummer, but I am more than willing to head back there and try something else! Go and support local business and, by association, small coffee farms where farmers are able to see a return!

On of my favorite coffee spots in Fort Wayne. Excellent pour overs and a wide variety of roasts. Haven't had a bad cup of coffee here.
(5)Joel C.
The service here is great, the coffee is fantastic and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Love the local flavor!

Had a awesome time with wife on a lazy weekend morning! Great food and coffee feel like I am in Chicago and not Fort Wayne!
(5)Joshua D.
Do yourself a favor, enjoy an espresso drink from this place -- or pretty much anything, really. They brew freshly roasted coffee from one of the premier coffee roasters in the country, Counter Culture. I've visited Blue Bottle, Intelligentsia, Portola Coffee in Costa Mesa, CA. I've been all over the country and Europe tasting coffee. Fortezza is right in line with the high-ballers. I'm beyond excited they're in Fort Wayne. Overall, my strong recommendation.
(5)Jennifer F.
I love coffee and coffee shops. I find Fortezza ok. The coffee is VERY well made and poured, but the flavor is not perfect for me. The atmosphere is great albeit a bit pretentious.
(3)Cody P.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Consistently perfect espresso after numerous visits. This rivals local Seattle, WA coffee shops for the best espresso I've ever had.

My family and I were in Fort Wayne to visit family and looking for a place for good coffee. This place certainly delivered that. The service was great and the coffee was wonderful plus it was in walking distance from the hotel we were at. Glad to have found this gem.

Love the atmosphere, menu is easy to read, not cram packed like some. Excellent coffee , tea and deserts
